Pay is taxed weekly, but the first ₦1,000,000 of each week is free, so retail pay alone never reaches the tax bill; see Lagos Life tax.
How to Get Promoted in the Lagos Life Retail Job
Performance starts at 50 and you are promoted when it reaches 100 at the end of a shift, as long as your Charisma skill is high enough for the next rank. After each promotion it drops back to 45. A good mood and the "work hard" style speed it up; skill trained outside work counts too.
| Rank reached | Shifts at a normal pace | Shifts working hard |
|---|---|---|
| Floor Supervisor | 2 | 1 |
| Store Manager | 4 | 2 |
| Area Manager | 6 | 4 |
| Retail Boss | 8 | 6 |
A promotion gives the Promoted! mood boost (+30 for 24 hours) and blessings. The shift that earns it is still paid at the old rank.
