What Lagos Life Tax Covers
- Taxed: shift pay, gig earnings, startup funding, the hackathon prize, the governor's allowance and business and trailer income.
- Not taxed: quest money, betting slips, lotto, padi bets, casino games, crime takings, and selling cars, businesses or land.
Career pay alone never passes the allowance: the best week is ₦330,000 (compare the jobs or read the best job). The bill starts to bite once you own big businesses such as the event centre or a haulage trailer, because their daily income is pooled with your pay.
Selling is the untaxed way to cash out: a land plot, a car or a business sold mid-week adds nothing to the bill. More ways to earn in how to make money.
