How to play Lagos Life: open lagoslife.app in any browser, sign up for free and you are dropped into a life sim set in Lagos. You roll a birth (Nepo Baby or LAPO Baby), pick traits, then keep your Sim fed, rested and paid while rent comes due every Saturday. Game time runs on real Lagos time, so a day in the game is a real day.

Step 1: Sign Up and Roll Your Birth

The game is free and runs in the browser, on phones and computers. After signing up, the birth lottery decides your start: a Nepo Baby with a rich father or a LAPO Baby with a microfinance loan. The full comparison is in Nepo Baby vs LAPO Baby.

Step 2: Build Your Sim

Choose your look and traits. Traits change how fast skills grow and how needs drain:

How to play Lagos Life: The First-Day Goals

New players get a goal list that pays cash for the basics:

Starter goals
GoalReward
Eat something₦500
Freshen up₦500
Get a job₦1,000
Buy something new₦1,000
Visit the buka₦1,500
Make a new friend₦1,500
Work a shift₦2,000
Reach level 2 in a skill₦3,000

Finishing all of them pays ₦11,000, which matters a lot on a LAPO start.

Step 3: Keep Your Needs Up

Your Sim has six needs that drain over time: Hunger, Energy, Fun, Social, Hygiene, Bladder. Low needs hurt your mood, and mood affects work performance and skill speed. Eat at home or at Amala Shitta, sleep in your bed and shower before work.

Step 4: Get a Job and Pay Rent

Open the phone and pick one of the 14 Lagos Life jobs. Going to work costs ₦150 and needs no trip; a shift takes about one real hour. Rent is due every Saturday from 9 AM: ₦2,400 in Mushin or ₦6,000 in Yaba on a LAPO start. Fall more than two weeks behind and you get a Quit Notice.

Step 5: Grow Your Money

Once rent is safe, add side gigs, then a business and land. The full plan is in how to make money in Lagos Life.
